Dr. Lionel Vera

Dr. Lionel Vera is a board-certified pediatric dentist with a knack for helping children establish positive relationships with their smiles. In this profession, he’s the first experience many of his patients have with an oral health provider. Dr. Vera’s mission is never to waste this opportunity to establish a positive, educational, and proactive relationship with dentistry.

Dr. Vera attended dental school at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus, graduating in 2014. He then moved to Brooklyn, NY, where he completed a General Practice Residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. During this time, Dr. Vera was a rotating resident at Kings County Hospital, a Trauma 1 NYC Health Hospital, working with a pediatric population and special needs kids. After completing his General Practice Residency, Dr. Vera was admitted to Maimonides Medical Center Pediatric Dental Program in Borough Park, where in 2018, he completed his Pediatric Dental Residency.

When he’s not helping kids at Pediatric Dentistry on Kimball, Dr. Vera is a volunteer attending at Maimonides Medical Center. In his free time, Dr. Vera loves road trips and hiking through the New England region of the United States. He also loves watching cooking videos on YouTube and learning recipes he very likely won’t be able to make.

“My drive as a pediatric dentist is to provide the best dental care to my patients while also being their biggest advocate. It is my conviction that our role should focus on the education of good oral hygiene, in both kids and parents, as the only way to achieve an enduring change in their current dental habits, and by doing so, we would be making a positive difference in the community we strive to serve.”—Dr. Lionel Vera
